I was reading through DListed, and saw this amazing photo;

This reminded me of a video I saw a long time ago that I found simultaneously disturbing and wonderful:

That is one shady cat. I can’t stop watching this video! I don’t know what is creepier, the cat itself or my obsession with it!

Through unintentional facebook stalking, I came across this vid (thanks Kara!):

I was watching High School Musical 2 (is it blasphemous if I liked it more than the first one?). Most people think it’s shittier since it’s way more ridiculous. But doesn’t that make it better in the end? My entire love of DCOMs is based on how ridiculous they are! The more garish, cheesy, campy, blatantly ludicrous the better! As I’ve gotten older, this happens more often when what at first I hate about something eventually becomes what I love about it. The highlight of the movie was Zac Efron’s solo dance extravaganza, “Bet on it”. When I first watched that number, I teetered between feeling very embarrassed for Zac Efron, since that will always exist forever for the world to see, and simply basking in the magnificence of this perfect concoction of candy-coated, queeny, tweeny goodness. The more I watch it, the more I lean towards the latter.

As the headmaster of my old bougie high school used to say at fundraisers, “We drink out of wells others have dug”. This masterpiece would not have been possible if it weren’t for certain cutting edge works that paved the way, like the following: Embedding was disabled for this video so you just have to go to the link: “Separate Ways” by Journey”

Though HSM2 and Journey have illustrated the magic and power unique to the art of the angry dance, no one quite reaches the same heights as Flight of the Conchords:

i resisted the urge to write the title as “It’s a bird, it’s a plane….” so I deserve a medal.

I wonder if Good Vibes sell any.

Oh Bollywood….you always seem to combine with my favorite things! First you fused with my favorite Jane Austen novel (and became a bit of a frankenstein monster). Now this….

I stumbled on this gem on youtube, combining my two loves: superheroes and Bollywood:

In a similar vein, I wanted to bring out from the vault these great vids where people recut movie trailers. For example, people have re-edited the Shining trailer so it looks like a romantic comedy, etc. Here is one where Tom Cruise is now in a Bollywood adventure:

My favorite one of these trailers has to be “10 Things I Hate About Commandments”, aka “a comedy 3000 years in the making”. Brilliant!!

Oh man, I have the biggest crush on Kate Micucci. According to YouTube, she’s an “LA singer/ actress/ comedian” equipped with a ukulele.

Check out her website, it has some of her songs, acting real and her drawings. The drawings are really fun and silly, kind of reminding me of Don Hertzfeldt a bit (but less toilet humor and violence). This one is one of my faves:

Fun, quirky, and she plays the ukulele. Who could be more after my heart? Here’s her video for “Dear Deer” which is ridiculously adorable. I found it when looking at one of my favorite sites, Uke Hunt.

Remember this great Got Milk? commercial?

Want to know the historical background on that fateful day between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr?

Remember the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City? This awesome guy, Steve Bradbury wins Australia’s first gold for speed skating by simply not falling. He not only wins the gold, but my heart as well. That’s what I hope to live my life by, accidental success!
